Ki O Rahi Senior Championship

Our Senior Ki O Rahi Championships took place on the 18th of September at Bert Henam Park. We saw 17 teams in our senior mixed grade and 6 teams new to the sport in our novice grade.

The weather was undecided with what it wanted to do for the day, rain in one round then sunshine in the next. Regardless this did not stop some great competition and close games.

Winning our novice grade was Hobsonville Point winning all their pool games. This followed by a three-way tie on points for 2nd,3rd and 4th coming down to point differencial to separate the teams. Liston/St Dominic were second followed by Onewhero in third.

In our senior mixed grade, Westlake Boys/Girls Green took 1st place in a hard fought final against Aorere College winning 15-10 and an even closer game for 3rd/4th which went to extra time with Mt Albert Grammar beating King’s College.

College Sport Auckland would like to thank Kī o Rahi Tāmaki Makaurau for their support and delivery of the tournament including equipment, tournament direction and referees. We could not have this tournament without them.

We would also like to thank, and are delighted to be working alongside Tūpuna Maunga Authority who have helped organise the fields and field markings and are providing kai through a sausage sizzle on tournament day.
